Great music in the great outdoors

Indulge all your senses this summer at one of Hamilton Halton Brant’s many outdoor concerts. We’ve rounded up a few best bets that are sure to get your toes tapping.

Festival of Friends
Head to the Ancaster Fairgrounds for the 39th annual Festival of Friends. The free summer music, arts, and craft festival is the largest of its kind in Canada and is taking place August 7th, 8th, and 9th.
 
Country Tuesdays
There are two concerts left in Royal Botanical Gardens’ country music series. Catch Brad Battle on August 4th and Me and Mae on August 11th.
 
Wednesdays at Whitehern
On Wednesdays through the end of August, bring your lunch and enjoy the stunning historic garden setting and all-you-can-drink tea or lemonade while listening to live music from noon until 2 pm.
 
Red Hot Jazz & Cool Blue Wednesdays
Head to Royal Botanical Gardens on Wednesday evenings through September 9th for a great lineup of Jazz and Blues performers including Jack de Keyzer, Heillig Manoeuvre and Alex Tait, Diana Panton, Carlos del Junco and the Blues Mongrels, Jay Douglas, Brant Parker and Eliza Pope.

Music at Fieldcote
There is another month of The Music at Fieldcote Series, which runs every Sunday from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. through August 23rd. Remaining shows include Glory and Freedom: a celebration of Emancipation Day, The Nearness of You – the music of Hoagy Carmichael, Jim Clayton Trio and Dallahan.
 
Rock the Hills
This popular Halton Hills youth music festival returns for another year on August 22nd at the Georgetown Fairgrounds.
 
Greenbelt Harvest Picnic
Don’t miss this fan favourite at Christie Lake Conservation Area on August 29th for great performances by Arkells, Bahamas, Iron and Wine, Gordon Lightfoot, Gregory Alan Isakov, Kathleen Edwards, Basia Bulat, Martha Wainwright, Terra Lightfoot and Dinner Belles.
