Rail Trail Riding

Not your typical rail trail, this 32-km trail meanders alongside the Grand River from Cambridge to Brantford. The rewards of this trail go way beyond the scenery, as it’s bordered on both ends with tasty bakeries, coffee shops and waterfront patios.

For a family ride, start at Glen Morris and pedal nine km south downstream to Paris. Make sure you stop in the Paris Bakery or Brown Dog Café at the end of the stretch for a sweet reward. Ride back to your vehicle at the start point or plan for alternate transportation.

When distance matters, ride from Brantford to Cambridge and back (64 km). The route has a slow incline to Cambridge and a relaxing slope back to Brantford. Make a stop downtown in Paris to refuel for your trip home at Camp 31 BBQ or Stillwaters.

If you like to stop and smell the roses, the 36-km ride from Cambridge to Paris offers scenic views at a relaxing pace. Be sure to stop and explore downtown Paris on your journey. It’s a great place to grab a snack like an apple strudel, or some ribs and salad if you’re feeling famished from the ride.
